Fourth Sunday in Advent: Peace

Jumping ahead slightly, let’s look at Simeon in the temple after Jesus' birth. Guided by the Holy Spirit,

Simeon goes to the temple when Mary and Joseph are there with Jesus, the one he had been promised to see. This was no random coincidence.

Simeon’s rest was eternal, but we continue to pray his song of peace every day in the liturgy before bed, asking God for the same peace that Simeon received, which comes from seeing our Saviour.

Are we aware of Jesus throughout our day? How can this awareness change the way we reflect his peace?
