Remembering the Saints
Happy “All Hallows Eve” and an anticipated All Saints Day (Nov 1) and All Souls Day (Nov 2)!
Over the next few days, we honour the saints, who are alive in heaven and are united to us in the blood of Jesus. These saints stand at the throne of God and pray for us,1 that we might persevere in running the good race.2 The vocation of every Christian is to become a saint, so let us emulate those who have showed us the way of holiness through their remarkable virtue, sacrifice and martyrdom.
Whether you celebrate contemporary versions of Halloween or not, this time of year is a chance to remember that good always triumphs over evil, that light has defeated darkness and that Jesus has claimed the victory by his blood. Let this evening be a particular reminder of that truth.
